Airgas South, Inc., a subsidiary of Airgas, Inc. the nations leading distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases and welding supplies, has a SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST position open at our Kennesaw, GA location.
The ideal candidate should be a team player with strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Candidates MUST also have previous accounting experience, as well as thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting and technical understanding of accounting systems and processes.
JOB SUMMARY:
The position will be responsible for providing monthly financial analysis in support of the assigned Areas they support. This will encompass budgeting, forecasting, profitability/price increase analysis, along with internal reporting and ad hoc analysis as requested by field constituents and the VP of Finance, along with monthly and quarterly analysis of financial results versus budget and prior year. The field constituents include the Operating Area Vice Presidents, District Managers and Branches. This position will also be an integral part of the development and continuous improvement of the budget process. The reports and conclusions will provide critical information to support field and senior management with strategic and operating decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Work extensively with their Areas/Branches and VP of Finance to perform analysis and identify issues/opportunities for enhancement of profitability/returns.
* Report and analyze financial and operating metrics such as same-store sales, gross margin, same-store expenses, working capital, asset utilization, etc.
* Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes, with a focus on process improvement.
* Serve as liaison between Accounting and branches in review and analysis of monthly Branch P&Ls.
* Prepare internal financial reports and presentations for meetings with operating management, which
* Perform periodic financial audits of their branches, including cash, inventory and fixed assets (cylinders).
* Partner with Business Leaders on key Strategic projects.
* Provide leadership and innovation in the area of financial reporting and analysis.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Periodic travel will be required.
* Other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
* Five to six years of work experience in a financial role.
* Excellent PC skills: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, SAP, Hyperion
